Malta Poker Events – Satellite 26.11.09 Added On: 27/11/2009

The satellite event hosted by Malta Poker Events attracted 25 poker players - All eager to win themselves a seat to the ‘Kings and Queens of November’ €220 tournament taking place on Sunday the 29th November at the Portomaso Casino.

Two tournaments were set-up on Thursday the 26th November – one €27+3 freezeout event as well as a €27+3 re-buy event.  Both tournaments had the players start with a stack of 3,000 chips with blinds levels increasing every 18 minutes.  The freeze-out event was hosted in the no-smoking area of the Portomaso Casino, while the re-buy tourney took place in the regular card-room shared with the cash game tables.

The freeze-out satellite attracted 10 players and paid out one €220 ticket to Nicolas Lehe [France] and €50 in cash to Gijsbertus Den Ouden – a winner from the previous week.

The re-buy satellite limited players to one re-buy and one top-up before the break and attracted 15 players.  Here, most players utilised a looser strategy than the one adopted in the freeze-out tourney, since they were allowed a second chance to buy-in if they ever depleted their chip stack with the opportunity of topping up before the break.  It followed that the re-buy structure resulted in many more prizes being given out with three €220 tickets for Sunday’s tourney going out to 3 of the participating players and an additional €165 going out to 4th place.

Winners: 10 player Freezeout - €27+3 buy-in
€220 ticket – Nicolas Lehe
€50 in cash - Gijsbertus Den Ouden

Winners: 15 player Rebuy [1 Re-buy & 1 Add-on] - €27+3 buy-in
€220 ticket – Simon Gauci [No re-buy / No Addon]
€220 ticket – John Grima [No re-buy / No Addon]
€220 ticket – Charles Micallef
€165 in cash – Julian Gatt

The action continues on Saturday, 28th November with a freeze-out satellite starting at 19:00Hrs and the €220 end of month taking place on Sunday the 29th November at 16:30Hrs.  Events will be taking place at the Portomaso Casino and more information and photos are available at the Malta Poker events website on http://www.maltapokerevents.com
